A 23-year-old female presented with painful and tender, red, swollen distal phalangeal area of the index finger with pus accumulation under the nail plate of few days duration.
An asymptomatic, large-sized, slowly-evolving, indurated, dull-red, non-ulcerative plaque involved the cheek and upper lip of three years duration in a 76-year-old woman.
A 36-year-old housewife presented with slightly painful red swollen proximal nail folds (bolster sign) of some fingers associated with slight crinkling of the involved nail plates of many months duration.
A pruritic erythematous macerated patch involved the vault of one axilla of many days duration. On examination many satellite lesions were seen outside the mother patch. The rash responded very well to a two-week-course of topical antifungal therapy (Nystatin cream).
A less than one month old neonate presented with a 3-day-history of multiple superficial pustules on an erythematous base. Some lesions have been ruptured with some degree of exfoliation left. The rash has started in the neck flexure and spread to the neighboring areas of the chest and face. The condition seemed to be progressing toward Staphylococcal Scalded Skin Syndrome. The condition was cured with a 7-day course of an oral cloxacillin plus topical fusidic cream.
