Leukonychia striata is one variant of leukonychia, it may be hereditary, traumatic or of systemic origin. This 17-year-old female presented with multiple transverse white bands affecting the finger nails of many years duration. She had no similar family history and was not associated with any systemic disease.
Two months after surgical drainage of a boil in the middle of the chest an irregular, well-circumscribed, flesh-colored, hard fibrous nodule developed.
A very unique case of congenital intra-oral lymphangioma circumscriptum in a 10-year-old boy presented with a predominantly-unilateral, grouped, deep-seated vesicles some of which were bloody, confined to the right posterior half of the hard palate.
Erythromelanosis Follicularis Faciei et Colli is a unique erythematous pigmentary disease characterized by a reddish-brown, sharply demarcated, symmetrical discoloration involves the preauricular and maxillary regions. At times the pigmentation is blotchy. In addition, pale follicular papules may be present. Keratosis pilaris on the arms and shoulders is frequently found. It preferentially affects Asian patients. The present patient is an adolescent with bilateral symmetrical blotchy brownish hyperpigmentation on both cheeks and preauricular areas with some follicular papules of 4 years duration, in addition, to keratosis pilaris on both shoulders and upper arms.
A30-year-old woman had history of recurrent erythema multiforme involving predominantly the extensor surface of the extremities of about three years duration. Initial attacks were more frequent and more severe and precipitated each time by herpes labialis. Acyclovir was given prophylactically and caused less frequent and milder bouts of erythema multiforme.
A very interesting and puzzling case referred from another dermatologist of a 6-year-old girl presented with an asymptomatic, oval, blackish patch/plaque about 2×1 cm in greatest diametetrs involved the middle portion of the palm of six months duration. We put three differential diagnoses according to lesion’s morphology: Benign melanocytic nevus, pigmented BCC and malignant melanoma. An excisional biopsy was done and benign melanocytic nevus was the final diagnosis.
A 26-year-old female presented with an asymptomatic but cosmetically disfiguring reticulate dusky erythema with slight hyperpigmentation involved the dorsum of the hands. The patient had a habit of sitting close to a stove (heater) in winter months.
A 35-year-old woman who is a known case of Darier’s disease since early childhood presented with multiple asymptomatic verrucae on the trunk and hands of more than one year duration.
