Squamous Cell Carcinoma complicating genital wart

History

           Genital wart involved the penile shaft and suprapubic region of three years. Some wart lesions had been treated with electrocautery two years ago. At last 6-8 months an eroded red nodule developed on top of wart lesions. Excisional biopsy with a suitable safe margin showed SCC invading the dermis.

Chronic benign bullous dermatosis of childhood

History

           A 6-year-old male suffered a widespread severely pruritic bullous rash of 8 months duration. On examination tense bullae on erythematous bases involved the face, trunk and extremities. However, the mucous membranes were spared. Prompt response was noticed few days after starting therapy with dapsone 2 mg per kg per day.

Tinea faciei

History

           A 53-year-old woman presented with dermatitis-like reaction on the face of six months duration with partial improvements and exacerbations on topical corticosteroid use. O/E an eryhtematous scaly rash with an active border involved most of the face was seen. KOH examination of scales yielded dermatophytes. Cure was obtained on oral griseofulvin and topical clotrimazole for 6 weeks.

Oral thrush

History

           A 21-year-old male with IDDM presented with widespread white plaques involved the entire dorsal surface of the tongue in addition to oral commissures. He gave history of prolonged course of antibiotics taken for upper respiratory tract infection. This patient also had scrotal (fissured) tongue in addition to oral candidiasis.
