Destructive Basal Cell Carcinoma

History

           An 83-year-old woman presented with an irregular destructive ulcer with rolled up border and crusted base involved the nose of five years duration. The tip and part of the dorsal surface of the nose had been destroyed. There was no lymph node enlargement or distant metastasis.

Erysipelas

History

       A 28-year-old lady presented with painful and tender swelling of both periorbital regions and surrounding cheeks associated with fever, headache and malaise of 10 days duration. Excellent response was obtained through treatment with i.v penicillin for 10 days.

Neurotic excoriations

History

         A 77-year-old woman presented with unilateral bizarre lesions (linear scars, excoriations, crustations and dyspigmentation)  confined to one shoulder region of two years duration. She admitted that she had developed a habit of excoriating and digging her skin after exposure to psychological tension.

Amputation neuroma

History

        A 5-year-old boy subjected to traumatic amputation of his distal phalanx one year ago. Six months later, many tender, skin-colored, smooth-surfaced papules have developed at the amputation stamp which on biopsy appeared to be neuromas.

Acute Generalized Exanthematous Pustulosis

History

           Oral doxycyclin had been taken by the patient 3 days prior to the onset of a generalized pustular rash. The rash was composed of widespread, red, non-follicular pustules involved mainly the trunk and upper extremities. The patient had no fever or any systemic symptoms. Ten days after stoppage of doxycyclin the rash has disappeared with some exfoliation.
