KA in xeroderma pigmentosum

History

          A 10-year-old boy who is a known case of xeroderma pigmentosum with positive family history of similar condition and early onset skin tumors. He presented with an asymptomatic, dome-shaped nodule with a central keratinous plug of 10 months duration. Excisional biopsy showed KA.

Paget’s disease of the breast

History

          A 63-year-old lady complained of > one-year history of persistent, moderately pruritic, unilateral, slightly infiltrative red plaque involved the left nipple and surrounding areolar region. The patient claimed partial improvement on topical steroid treatment which had been prescribed from time to time. O/E many left axillary lymph nodes were palpable. Skin biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of Paget’s disease of the breast and immunohistochemical assessment revealed positive CEA, EMA and negative S-100 protein. The patient had been referred to surgery.

Oral fibroma

History

          A 23-year-old female presented with an asymptomatic, solitary, smooth-surfaced, pinkish firm nodule arose from the buccal surface of the cheeck of six months duration. It has been excized totally under local anesthesia with the biopsy finding was consistent with benign fibroma.

Dermatofibroma

History

          A 12-year-old boy presented with an asymptomatic skin-coloured to brownish dome-shaped firm nodule on the shin of six months duration. The patient denied any history of noticeable trauma to the lesional area prior to the appearance of the nodule.

Nodular melanoma complicating congenital melanocytic nevus

History

       A 75-year-old man presented with a small dark-red to brownish dome-shaped slightly crusted nodule developed within an irregularly-shaped congenital melanocytic nevus. The nodule has been noticed six months before presentation. It has been excised with a suitable safe margin and sent for histologic examination which revealed a nodular melanoma with malignant melanocytes reaching to mid dermis level.
